Partnership
OTS has proven its ability to develop effective working relationships
with a vast range of groups including the North West Institute of Further
and Higher Education, Greater Shantallow Area Partnership, Waterside
Development Group, Lifford and Clonleigh Resource Centre, Wokers Education
Association, NYPD (New Youth Project for Drugs), St. Columbís
Park House, Shantallow Community Centre, etc. Invaluable links have
been built with a host of organisations including the Department of
Education, Probation, Foyle Trust, Youth Service, Housing Executive,
NIACRO, Business In the Community, etc a across a range of sectors,
i.e., community, voluntary, statutory and business that should help
to cement the long-term success the project.
Off the Streets also sits comfortably within it's own community and
wider geographical remit having developed positive links with a host
of local community groups across the 5 electoral wards. Off the Streets
works in partnership with many of these groups on a number of bodies
including the Galliagh Community Safety Task Force and the Greater Shantallow
Area Partnership. We have a positive working relationship with all of
the local groups including the immediate Shantallow area including the
Greater Shantallow Community Arts Centre, Shantallow Controlled Youth
Club, Shantallow Community Centre, Galliagh Women's Group, Shantallow
Residents Group, Greater Shantallow Area Partnership, Skeoge House to
name but a few. We also are represented on the Greater Shantallow Area
Partnership Youth Work Forum and Shantallow Women's Community Network.
We are also developing a network of contacts on an national and international
basis including Lifford and Clonleigh Youth Project, Viennese Youth
Department, International Youth Institute Programme in Israel, Lubelska
Wojewodzka Komenda in Poland and street work projects in Innsbruck,
Vienna and Brittany.
We have been part of the IFI's Community Leadership Programme and have
received support from the Social Economy Agency and Business In the
Community in our efforts to develop a Strategic Approach and effective
Business Plan that offers a co-ordinated approach to many areas including
Funding, Operations, Purpose Build, Programmes, Staffing, Publicity,
etc.
